FLORIDA CAREER COLLEGE, a nationally accredited private college founded in 1982, is pleaed to announce our opening for a Director of Financial Aid (Corporate Office) in Lauderdale Lakes. FLORIDA CAREER COLLEGE owns and operates eight Florida campuses located in Miami, Hialeah, Pembroke Pines, Lauderdale Lakes, West Palm Beach, Clearwater, Brandon and Jacksonville. FLORIDA CAREER COLLEGE is a rapidly growing provider of career-oriented post-secondary education offering Diploma, Associate and Bachelor Degree programs and specializes in Healthcare (Allied Health), Wellness programs (Skin Care & Massage Therapy), Business and Information Technology.

The Director of Financial Aid (Corporate Office) is responsible for the management of all aspects of the corporate centralized financial aid team, including management of Packaging, Compliance, Return to Title IV processing, Title IV funds flow, Pell and Campus Based Aid.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Directly supervises and provides professional development for the Director of Centralized Processing, Funds Processing Manager and the Return to Title IV Manager.
  • Manages the Title IV past due process.
  • Manages the packaging process for all new students to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ensures that COD and G5 are reconciled for Pell and SEOG.
  • Manages the Direct Loan process.
  • Works at fostering a strong relationship between all corporate and campus Financial Aid departments by emphasizing team work and excellent customer service.
  • Monitors and reconciles Campus Based Aid
  • Develops metrics and a reporting framework to measure employee and process effectiveness.
  • Ensures all departments are in compliance with Federal, State and Company guidelines and regulations.
  • Oversees the development of training material/manuals and maintain training calendar for both Corporate and Campus personnel as it pertains to Federal Student aid.
  • Assists with researching and negotiating lender sources for Student Aid to ensure proper funding for all students.
  • Actively participates in due diligence reviews and analysis as needed.
  • Works with IT on process automation, software conversion, maintenance and data accuracy as it relates to Financial Aid.
  • Develops and reviews analytical data on packaging rates and past due amounts.
  • Maintains and Develops Policies and Procedures for all Federal Student Aid
  • Plays an integral role in all State, Federal, Internal and Guarantor Financial Aid Audits.
  • Conducts regular meetings to ensure high staff morale and productivity.
  • Works with peers to ensure consistency and accuracy throughout all departments.
  • Develops staffing plan and recruitment for the Department
  • Stays current on news and legislative updates that may have an impact on the Educational Industry.

  • Skills / Requirements
  • Communicates and interacts effectively with Executive Directors and campus-based financial services staff (bursar, financial services reps) to ensure a high level of customer service while maintaining the highest level of compliance
  • Must have excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization required
  • Must be a team-builder
  • Maintains the highest ethical standards

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment and effectively manage the central financial aid processing department personnel.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 10 to 15 years financial aid and/or operations experience
  • 5 – 7 years of financial Aid Management Experience in a multi-site environment
  • 5 years of process development and management experience
  • Software implementation experience a plus
  • Verifiable References

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Must speak fluent English.
