Job Description
Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities
The Low Voltage Engineer works with vendors and internal resources to implement new low-voltage and data center/computer room projects and manage existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities Include:
*Maintains data center and server rooms in line with best practices involving the utilities infrastructure including fail-safe energy supply and backup systems, HVAC services and distribution, equipment cooling systems, and wire management.
*Responds to and resolves issues related to data center/computer room infrastructure and low-voltage wiring
*Works with architectural/engineering firms, develops design criteria and prepares layout for data center space, home office and school locations.
*Directs the activities of contractors and consultants in the planning, design, engineering, and construction of data center and office/school floor space related projects
*Works with low voltage contractors to manage work plans associated with floor build outs and office moves.
*Conducts and prepares technical evaluations of site infrastructure, equipment, and utilities required to support data center projects and maintain world-class standards of performance.

Experience Required:
*3 years experience as a Low Voltage or Facilities Engineer
*At least 2 years experience in a data center facilities position
*BS in Engineering or related field. (Will consider an Associate degree and a minimum of 5 years experience.)
*Experience in project management, facilities management, facilities design and construction.
*Experience in managing vendors and projects
*Experience documenting systems and processes
*Professional engineering license or registration preferred.

Position Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required:
*Good knowledge of data center operations, practices and procedures
*Ability to document systems and processes using Visio
*Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
*Must be able to work evenings/weekends as needed
*Must be able to able to travel (15%)
