Job Description
Kaplan is seeking a Business Engagement Director to join our Kaplan Business Engagement group. The Business Engagement Director will play a significant leadership role in influencing and guiding the Kaplan on its journey towards operational and process excellence. The ideal candidate will be expected to advise and influence senior leaders, generally, regarding performance improvement opportunities for Kaplan's businesses. The Business Engagement Director will drive large improvement projects for internal clients and provide consulting, training and coaching support to employees on performance improvement. S/he may also lead and develop a team of business owners who will be leading performance improvement projects of their own. The work load for this position is likely to be equally split between infrastructure build activities and project.

Responsibilities include:
*Lead strategic initiatives from ideation to implementation
*Influence senior business leaders and build a robust performance improvement program at Kaplan
*Identify opportunities to improve student, customer and business impact
*Develop business cases to assess performance improvement opportunities
*Propose new projects, build sponsorship, gain resource commitments and drive project results
*Mentor/train team members in performance improvement methodologies and tools
*Identify, codify, and disseminate best practices (internal & external)

Qualifications:
*MBA plus at least five (5) years of work experience developing and improving processes
*Extensive Management and/or Strategic Consulting &- in business shaping and turnaround environments
*Excellent communication & influencing skills
*Ability to work independently as well as leading project teams
*Exceptional ability to build relationships and perform in fluid environments
*Familiar with Process Management tools
*Ability to travel (25-50%)
*Capable of managing large, complex, multi issue, multi divisional projects

Preferred Qualifications
*Process Management &- Green or Black Belt
*Project Management Certified
*Experience with business acquisition and integration

Measurement of Success
The Business Engagement Director will be evaluated based on (a) delivering projects on time, within budget, and within the scope of the conditions of satisfaction; (b) ability to drive towards performance improvement solutions; (c) ability to work effectively on a team, both within and across Kaplan's businesses, and (d) drive significant measurable performance improvement results as defined by the Business Engagement department head.
