Profile: International Association of Administrative Professionals - Miami Dade

IAAP is the world's largest association for administrative support staff.

IAAP is an association of members focused on promoting high professional standards and enhancing the image of the profession. Its purpose is to provide education and training, leadership development, and networking opportunities for its members.

IAAP is a non-profit professional association with 40,000 members and affiliates and 700 chapters world-wide.

The Miami Dade Chapter is part of the Florida Division and Southeast District.

IAAP was founded in 1942 as The National Secretaries Association. "International" was added to its name in 1954 when the first chapter was formed outside the continental U.S. in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  In 1981, the name was changed to Professional Secretaries International (PSI) and most recently, in 1998, the Association's name was changed again to IAAP to reflect the broader range of job titles and expanded responsibilities held by today's administrative support staff.
