Profile: Coastal Education Institute

Coastal Education Institute has assisted Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s) in earning college credit towards a nursing degree as a tutoring and test-preparation provider since 2004, when the tutoring center was incorporated in the state of Florida. This institution prepares students for American Council on Education-approved, college-level examinations such as CLEP, ECE, and Dantes examinations. Students earn college credit in a given course upon successful completion of the test, which are then transferred to the college or university of choice.

At present, Coastal Education Institute has almost 800 students. Impressively, it has maintained an 88 percent retention rate since its inception. Fueling that retention could well be its average pass rate on all examinations throughout its history: 85 percent. All teaching staff at CEI are credentialed at the same level, or at a higher level, than faculty of a traditional community college.
